Originally from Orange, New Jersey while proudly representing his Nigerian heritage, June Saba found music to be a direct way to translate his emotions influenced from his tough neighborhood. As he grew up, he realized he was not on the right lane for his future, so he turned to delving into the musical creation behind pop music. Developing over time, Saba feels like his music is a melting pot of a variety of genres: pop, indie, hip-hop, and others. He also feels like his infectious melodies and lyrics are incomparable to other upcoming artists.

Being heavily influenced by artists like Wale, Post Malone, and Kid Laroi, Saba hears individual works of art produced by the artists. Relating, he began to become fixated on creating his own art unique to his story and style. Even though it was early when he had a different sound in his music career, he was offered the opportunity in 2017 to open for Lil Uzi Vert in Newark, New Jersey. However, due to the global pandemic, June Saba has not been able to see the stage lights since. In Saba’s eyes, everything happens for a reason, thus it has allowed him to focus on his writing. A song came that naturally to produce translating to an everyday bop produced by UrFriendJoe with June Saba slaying the vocals is taking the industry by storm.

Being released on 01/15/2021, “No Games” follows a fling of Saba’s past where their relationship can compare to a combat arcade game. Visually represented in a Naruto anime setting, with the concept of ‘no games’, he began putting his emotions to paper. Due to the theme behind the song, June Saba wishes to reach the gaming, indie/pop, and anime communities. Saba describes the song process as “so fun to create, I was just in a conversational kind of mood as if I was talking to the girl… [UrFriendJoe] started playing the guitar and I just started humming melodies [and] the rest just filled in”. For this being his debut single, Saba has made his entrance into the industry felt by many and hopes to last like the greats that came before him. Make sure to go check out the song “No Games” along with the music video, which is out now on all streaming platforms.
