Not knowing M.TV’s roommate had angelic vocals, he and Jhada collaborated on his latest single titled “Already Lost”, released this past week. Having a conversation about the meaning of why they make music, they both felt that it is the best way they can cope with the internal and external curveballs that life may throw at anyone. Hoping their latest track can help empower the audience that they too can conquer any obstacle in their way while achieving happiness.
With such a unique style to his music, M.TV says he does not have competition because he is more worried about his personal growth to be focused on other’s work. He expressed “my style is me, it’s very clear that I’m portraying my honest, organic personality”, which is a rarity to find in today’s music scene. He continued on to describe the inspiration behind the different styles heard in “Already Lost” saying “I’ve been trying to focus on all of the different sides of me: like grunge or punk rock, to pop, R&B, and lyrical hip hop. I wanted a track that could display all of that as best as possible”.
Delving into the lyrics of “Already Lost”, M.TV and Jhada told us their favorite lines from their song while providing insight to what it meant to them. “Life don’t treat me right all the time, but it’s alright. I don’t always have to be right; had to fight. You feel me if you know what it’s like; never knew what it’s like. On the opposite side of inside of my mind”. M.TV expresses that life will not go according as planned, however, you need to remain focused on whatever goal you are trying to achieve.
Hoping that by hearing his music, someone can reevaluate themselves, like he did, accepting themselves for who they are. He expresses how much easier life looked to him once he accepted himself.
